Who Owns The Coal?

I have a deed in West Virginia that specifically states that I own 1/8 of the Oil and Gas Rights on the property. This was inherited from a relative in the early 1900s.

In the deed there is NO mention of coal or minerals in general, just that I own the O&G rights.

Does anyone know if I also own the coal based on this deed? Or would the deed to have to say “all minerals” or coal specifically for me to ALSO own the coal?

Thanks!

Unless it specifically states that you own the coal, you do not own the coal. It was either conveyed separately, or transferred with the deed
