I think I should have one named after me.
Now, on a serious note. In my 1280 acre spacing, my ownership is in Sect 9 of 150/99/9 Section 4 is where the wells are spud. The laterals go down through Sect 9. I'm not sure but it seems like the docket said the limit was 7 wells. Those 7 wells are, at this time, complete but I have not received new division order nor royalties. The scout report says oil started being sold in Oct 2013, so I'm assuming, based on XTO's reputation that royalties should be coming, but don't hold your breath. Curiosity wonders if it is possible for there to be ever, something on the docket that would be requesting 7 more wells proposed in this spacing but being spud in section 9 and pull the oil from section 4. I kind of got this hair brained idea from an earlier post by Mr kennedy. An inquiring mind wants desperately to know. I have a pair of dancing shoes that haven't been worn in a while.
Deloris, the operator names the well I think, they may take some input from the person whose land it actually sits on if they ask for it. I suppose the right to name the well could be negotiated in a lease.
Deloris, the map does not want to pull up for me this moment. I believe that your area qualifies as what is called "Better Bakken" and in which the NDIC Directors presentation, they said such areas would receive 24 to 48 wells per 1280 spacing. I would say that an additional 7 wells would be a conservative estimate. The problem being, who knows when they will be drilled? The spacing is held by production and nothing more needs be done for decades. I recommend two things, first that you find the NDIC Directors presentation on Youtube and watch it, secondly, that you get out the dancing shoes and go anyway.
I will do both. In the future is fine. My grandchildren and their children. I am being blessed now with 7 wells in 4 and 9 and 7 wells coming down into sect 10 where the other acres are. The main reason I asked about the naming of the wells is that two of the wells listed in 34 have been changed to Rita. They go north instead of south where we are. Thanks again.
