I inherited three acres of minerals and have no idea where they are located. I also have no idea if they are being explored for any type of mineral found. I live in El Paso and do not know how tom get their and find out what i have stated. May anybody guide me?
No, no one here can tell you where they are located.
You might ask other family members, or if there is a will, see if there is a legal description of the minerals in the will.
Maybe someone interested in leasing or buying them will find you.
Some might advise you to check Texas unclaimed property records, etc., but that is likely a long shot.
Good luck.
How do you know , you inherited 3 acres, were you contacted by a landman or oil company. Would the inheritance of the acres be from your mom side of the family, or your dads side of the family, any idea of what county
I do have the warranty deed that given to me. The 3 acres and 1/3 are located in Yoakum,TX. Is this County located near or past San Antonio?
Your minerals will either be in DeWitt or Lavaca County. The deed should tell you what survey they are in, and in which county. Yoakum isn't too far from San Antonio. Maybe about 95 - 100 miles to the east, southeast.

What name was on the deed , i could see if I can find anything on the name on the deed
The name on the deed should be under John D. Carroll

I found a Carroll -Miller, and a Carroll bernal, in dewitt county, do any of these two mean anything
Not really Ms. Peterson. The original owner was Darwin Carroll. He had close to ten acres. After he passed away, the executor changed the part that he left under his will. John Carroll or Rosalinda Ayala, cant remember what the other partys name is. What I am thinking is that the deed must not be updated in the county clerk.
Another longshot name I found was , Darwin Redwine Carroll out of Yoakum Tx
Yes, I was trying to remember his middle name and u hit it right on he money :)
I found a John Woodrome Carroll that had a mineral deed in survey Lavina Dunbar A-17 17.82 acres in nov 2009 that survey is close to FM 1447W about 14 miles NE of Cuero tx or SE of Yoakum Tx, I will see what else I can find
Apparently Darwin Carroll had some dealings with a D Van Matthew, I don't know if he had sold to the matthew and kept the mineral rights, not sure, but this all occurred in the A-17 Lavina Dunbar survey, I saw where now their is an estate of Earl Matthew off FM 1447, close to FM 682 in Dewitt County, I saw were Rosalinda Ayala Nov 2009 had a mineral deed of 17.82 acres in A-17 Lavina Dunbar survey in Dewitt County
I really don't understand were u say that Rosalinda Ayala had a mineral deed back in 2009? She has never sold it, she never gave up the mineral part of it. Ms. Nancy if I may ask are u a surveyor or a mineral consultant? Like I said before there was a gentleman that was interested in purchasing Rosalinda's minerals for a high amount of monies. My mother nor I have had the time to see what exactly is what my mother Rosalinda inherited and why the persistence of that unknown individual.
there is a mineral deed on file with dewitt county court house showing her as owner of mineral rights, I will go back and get the volume and page number, it had something about executor with the acres, she can get a copy, I think I saw it on texasfile.com, will go back and check
it is volume OPR 298, page 54, you can go on texasfile.com and get a copy of the mineral deed, all I put in was ayala, then scrolled down to were I saw date 11-2009 Rosalinda Ayala, you can also get a hold of Dewitt county clerk and have them send you a copy of the mineral deed
also, I am just a person who likes helping people search for ancestry or mineral rights, my husband says I am a wanna be Landman, too old to go back to school a get a degree, just stay a wanna be Ha ha
