We responded to lease offer letter in Reeves County, Texas, only to be told our property was not currently in their buy area. Has anyone else experienced this?
Yes, this happens all the time. Many companies send out large batches of lease offers that cover a wide area and then they have Landmen personally work on their preferred top tier acreage. Yours may be on the fringe, or they may have changed their priorities for the time being. Sometimes they use the word “buy” to mean “lease”.
