The answer… nothing!! My name is Bob Garcia. My mom sold our old farm about 20 years ago to a couple of guys from Corpus and we retained 50% of the mineral rights. I don’t know if any drilling for oil or gas has happened during that time or not. With all the recent exploration activity going on in South Texas, I’m very interested to find out what, if anything, is going on.
My sister (97 years young) and me (76 years old) are the only ones left of the original family. She’s the oldest and I’m the youngest. There was 1 sister and 5 brothers between us and they are all gone. Of course, all our siblings left children behind, approximately sixteen.
So, needless to say, we are interested to find out if there is any production activity going on at our old place or not. By the way, our old place was located a little northwest of San Diego. As I recall, we come into San Diego from Alice, go through town, and on the outskirts of town, we would turn right onto what I remember as a road called “Seven Sisters Rd.” We would stay on that road for a while, maybe 15 miles or so, and turn right onto a small road that went by a lake on the right called “Driskell Lake.” Shortly after that was our gate leading up to the main house, barn, windmill, and water storage tank, 5,000 gallons as I recall.
If anyone out there can furnish me with any information concerning this matter, I will be very grateful.
Thanks. I can be reached at bobgarcia1935@sbcglobal.net.
