What should I do

I need some advice. Our family has some minerals in a BP America Unit in Harrison County. The well was completed and started producing in October, 2012. We have talked to the employees in the Royalty Owners Department at BP, but they just give us vague answers that the Division Orders are not ready yet and they do not know when they will be ready. I understand these people are just doing what they are told. We own minerals with other operators and I don't believe we have ever been "strung along" like this. Normally after six to nine months they can at least give you an answer as to why they are taking so long to get the DO's prepared. We had to hire an attorney just to get a simple transfer of interest completed with BP last year, so that might be what we have to do this time. Once the attorney wrote the letter, the transfer was completed within 60 days, after waiting over a year. Thank you for your help. Kathy Stephens

Kathy,

I would certainly be contacting that same 'attorney' to send a certified letter to BP stating the problem. I am assuming you are talking about Harrison County Texas???

Clinjt Liles

Yes Clint, Harrison County, Texas. I should have stated that because my grandson is a surveyor and he recently worked on an oil & gas project in Harrison County, Ohio. Thank you very much. I agree, I think hiring our attorney to write a letter is our only option. The land lady they used to lease our minerals no longer works for BP. Once again, thank you for your help. Kathy
