What leases do I own part of?

I own a fractional interest in the following described land: SW/4 Section 102 Block D Upton County Texas (Abstract 1883). I know I own an interest in the two leases that start and terminate in Section 102 (Graf and Blue Topaz). Do I also own an interest in leases that start on my interest but terminate in other abstracts? Forgive me if I do not have the terminology correct.

The abstract number you have is wrong, it is A-1383. See the GIS viewer for more info. MK

You are right. Sorry. Old eyes, small monitor!

However, I still have the question.

Not knowing what you really have other than the SW 1/4 of section 102 in block D of A-1383 in Upton county Texas. The answer is maybe, yes or no. A look at the plats and where you are in those would determine most of that. Most likely the answer is yes if they have parts in your tract whether they originate from another section or terminate in your part of the section. Again that will all be determined by the tract, section, and the lease specifications. I am sure someone with more knowledge than I will respond and help you. MK

@SmithFamily, no claim to being more knowledgeable than @Mikro1TX, but looking at plat drawings and showing orange square for SW4 of A-1383, it looks like the first take points for the new wells from Ovintiv will be inside the SW4. No production posted yet for the these wells (Herbert 102C and Herbert 102B). Wells from the North, still just showing as permitted, while the wells from the South show completed but no production yet. See drawings below.

Sorry about the delay in responding - too much life happening. I really appreciate you answering my query.

Another thing I am wondering is whether or not I should have been included in any leasing talks or something, or is a situation like this usually handled by the leases already in place. Also, should I be expecting to receive a division order once production starts?

Thanks again!

@SmithFamily, since there were existing active wells in the section, it is likely the lease was held by production and a new one was not required. Yes, when production starts you should receive a division order, but be patient, it may take a few months.

Thanks for the info. Today is the first time that I found numbers indicating production, so I guess I will just have to wait a little bit to see what happens. Thanks again!
