Trying to evaluate value of inherited Mineral Classified acreage in above mentioned part of Culberson. Looks like it is west of all the production/exploration activity. Have received some unsolicited “fishing” offers in the $85 to $150/acre range. I believe it is just west of the heavy exploration/production areas. Any ideas on what top dollar would be today? What about prospects in future if I hold onto it? Thanks.

Get on http://wwwgisp.rrc.texas.gov/GISViewer2/ Click on the magnifying glass, hit “surveys” and type in the legal information. You will be able to see if there is any current drilling or permits to drill on your property. Does not look like there is. Do not know how much acreage you have, but I would recommend you not selling. It is not worth much today, but could be one day. Good luck.
