What is a reasonable mineral rights royalty?

I see 3/16 in this discussion but what is the range and what is that contingent upon?

The standard mineral rights royalty now days is 20, 22.5, and 25%. Numerous oil companies try to get mineral owners that don't know better to sign for 1/8 or 3/16 but you can do better.

3/16 pegs it though, anything higher has caveats, and believe it or not O&G operators will shave that arguing that with only 81.25% they are still forced to 100% of cost!

Not knowing any better in 2010, our lease is for 3/16.

Does that figure translate somehow into how many net mineral acres you own?
