I think it has come to the point where I need records searched in several Oklahoma counties where the records have not been digitized back far enough, or are behind an expensive paywall. For example, I am currently looking into something my mother apparently had mineral rights to in Pittsburg County. The only reference I have been able to find is a lease to Enron in 1995. What I want to find is the Mineral Deed that this lease was based on. This property was apparently never transferred into her trust so I need more details. But the records beyond about 1989 are not digitized.
Do I have to hire someone to do this? Or can I show up at the county offices and start going through thousands of pages of records? I don’t think a lot of money is involved here so it wouldn’t make sense to pay hundreds or thousands of dollars for someone (a sandman?) to do this.
Any help would be appreciated.
