West Virginia Mineral Rights Question

Hello, I have recently inherited some family property in West Virginia. Sadly, after some research I learned the mineral rights had been sold by my great grandmother in the early 1930s. This is no joke but the document listed in the courthouse states the rights were sold for one dollar and a "gray mare", I wish I was kidding. This is in the hills of West Virginia and my great grandmother was illiterate and clearly swindled. Later in the 1970s Columbia gas began pumping natural gas and recently have informed me they intend to expand that operation. Do I have any options to challenge this? Am I totally helpless? Any feedback will be appreciated.
