I have been notified by Ovintiv that they are going to plug and abandon a well on my property in Dewey County Oklahoma. Their offer is to plug the well and remove all surface metal and gravel, then restore and reseed to original condition. Their optional offer is to plug the well and remove all surface metal, leave the gravel and compensate me $10K. I’m considering the compensation but I’m sure it would cost them more than $10K to remove the gravel and restore. Any thoughts on a reasonable counter to the $10K.

If you had to buy the gravel it would cost you a lot of money most likely.
