I am owner of a one-acre oil mineral deed that has been on file at the county seat in Mohall for years, Leo, and I have no idea as what to do with it. It is unleased (at least as far as I know) but how do I find out if a company is interested in exploratory drilling in the coordinates designated in the deed? And do they first inquire at the county seat as to ownership before any action is taken? For I know, someone might be drilling, either directly or horizontally within those quadrants, and I don’t know anything about it. I’ve written to three drilling companies who I thought might be operating in that area, but of course have heard nothing. Any idea from you or the other members where I should start inquiring?
