Take a look at your documentation. Most title companies will not perform searches or validate title to mineral estates. LA also has certain statutes regarding minerals (prescription rights) that makes a title evaluation more complicated. The good news is. those same prescription right limits may also eventually vest the mineral rights with you if they are not under production.
