Vector Energy Houston County

My cousins received a call last week from Vector Energy wanting to buy our mineral rights. Any others in Houston County been contacted?

Welcome to the forum. Offers to buy are site specific, so will vary across a county. If you give the block, Abstract name and number and section number, the forum can help with activity. Usually is a reason for an offer and you need to know all the facts before deciding.

Abstract No. 844

Survey Name: Ben Parker

Gross Acres: 99.55

Texas entry No. 1702913

Vector Energy has been acquiring minerals for quite some time in Robertson, Leon, Freestone, and Anderson Counties. They recently began acquiring minerals in Houston and Cherokee Counties.

That abstract has been heavily leased by Drake and Expand (formerly Chesapeake) Energy in the last 24 months. Might not want to be in too much of a hurry to sell…

I agree! Drake and Expand have leased about 2,000 acres in that survey (may be some double-counting).

Vector and maybe a dozen or so others have been making offers for several months. If you NEED the money, and it’s enough to make a difference, maybe consider it. And, you can negotiate.

Is there a bigger company behind these mineral buys by Vector in the Bossier/Haynesville Play? Where is all that money coming from?

Vector is a big company.

Yes, among many others wanting to buy.

I’m new to this. What is double counting?

Thank you for everyone responding. We found out about these rights about 6 months ago. We’re just going to keep them and see what happens. Kinda of a respect to Granddad from thinking ahead when his property sold years ago.

Thank you. This is very new to us. We don’t have a lot of net acres. We just found out about the mineral rights in the last 6 months. We are just going to watch how it pans out. I actually have pictures of the property in 1952 that we are getting the mineral rights from. More of family history than anything.
