Value of royalty interest

Searching thru some old warranty deeds from my wife's great grandfather I found where he had retained 1/32 royalty interest in a 20 acre parcel out of the following section;

Section No. Twenty Five (25), in Block No. Two (2), H&GN RR Co, Survey, Reeves County, Texas

Is there a market for a small interest like this and how would it be valued?

Section 25, Block 2, H&GN is in an extremely active and productive area, and a 1/32 royalty on 20 acres can still carry a lot of value. For example, the section bordering to the north of you is Section 8, Block 2, H&GN. It has done over 1.1 million barrels of oil since March of 2014. If you figure an average price of $50/barrel, your 1/32 royalty interest in 20 acres would've made over $50k in royalties over that period of time.

Below is a map of Section 25, Block 2, H&GN. I would recommend not selling, but if you do want to sell, you may want to reach out to one of the forum sponsors that might be able to tell you what similar interests are selling for in that area. Best of luck!

If there's been a producing well the county probably already sold it for you. It's a lovely Texas thing, if your not paying your taxes to all the entities of government for that county rather than take part of the royalty revenue that the state is probably holding from a producing well to pay your taxes they just sell it for you. Nice of Texas huh.
