I have mineral rights in 21-6N-4W in McClain County. VALIDUS ENERGY II MIDCON LLC recently took over the drilling rights to my section. I have received many extension notices over several months with many changing court dates on new wells in this area. They seem to be most interested in delaying to the point that I am not exactly sure what is going on. Does anyone know what the status is of my section? I also do know that they do not have to do anything.
Also, I have weighed the potential of selling my mineral rights. Are there appraisal companies that assess the value of such property sales? Much like selling homes. I get letters from companies that want to purchase all the time, but I’m not at all convinced that that is a legit way to go. I am not experienced in any of this and would not know a good offer from a bad, so hiring a professional assessment seems like a good idea… if there is one.
Thanks, NS
Casillas had plans for that section for additional horizontal wells. They were granted an extension for another year which lasts through November 2026. Validus bought Casillas and has rolled their acreage into their portfolio. It takes awhile to get all the data integrated in and budgets re-alligned. Validus just filed for two horizontals well in the Deese formation in April, so looks like activity is still on track. Well is supposed to be Tin Man 0605 2821 4HO with case 2026-001448 and Tin Man 0604 2821 5HO Case 2026-001450. If it were me, I would keep collecting my royalties on the horizontal wells that are already there and wait for the new wells. If you get an pooling notices, then do not delay in answering the order as you only have 20 calendar days in which to answer.
The Directories tab above has two appraisal firms. Vass does mostly east of the Mississippi and Pecan Tree does west of the Mississippi.
