Use of Apple computer to get on Case Processing web application site

I have a new Apple computer with latest Safari and Java. When I click on Case Processing Web Application, I get a message that says: "Application blocked by Java security. For security, applications must now meet the requirements for the High or Very High security settings, or be part of the Exception Site List, to be allowed to run. Has anyone encountered this problem? Would appreciate any suggestions. Larry Staples

Larry,

Go to sys. preferences in the dock...click on "security & privacy", click on "general", unlock the lock, choose "anywhere"...the default setting is the "app store" imagine that

Rick

Thanks so much. I've been working on this for hours. Larry

Hey Larry...glad it worked for you...I've been using macs for 20 yrs, but had the same problem when I upgraded a couple yrs. ago...took me hrs. to figure it out too...I assume it was a business decision on Apple's part rather than a security decision : )

Rick

You're a good cyber detective. I love Apple but once in a while there's some pain. Again, many thanks. Larry

Larry,

I too have issues concerning Case Processing at the OCC. After using this site for many years, I bought a new HP lap top, hired a tech to install and update data. However, he could not access CP. After contacting the IT dept. at OCC and working with him for a period of time, my tech was told the problem was coming from our end....not OCC... End of conversation.

Days later, after a second attempt to access, my tech could not get me access to CP. Many attemps and months later still no acess and the suggestion was to use a fee site for information; and this from a state tax supported entity. It may not be the computer problems as much as other areas.

Very interesting. Yes, these computer and website problems can be frustrating. In my case, I'm a couple of generations too early to have much computer savvy. So, I often have to get help. We're lucky when someone on the forum knows the answer to our problem. I subscribed to Drillinginfo at one time. It's an excellent service and you get lots of information. But they got too rich for my blood--a couple of thousand dollars per year. When they got too expensive I started getting info from the OCC site. It went okay until i bought this new Mac. Fortunately, Rick has an Apple and knows how to make it work on the site. I sure hope you find a solution. Sometimes these problems are maddening and costly. Larry

Hi John,

I've been following the thread, but I'm sorry I don't have any words of wisdom for you. My experience in the "widows world" is absolutely zero. I come from a professional media arts background where Mac is the industry norm and the much preferred platform.

Folks, Thanks for your replies.

Larry, I too am not adverse to saving money (Drillinginfo) and am not computer savy. The Case Processing (CP) is meat and potatoes to my mineral management. The poolings, exhibits, spacings and respondents list are much needed info. Without it it is like dart throwing in the dark sceneario; and, I find it strange that well database is workable but CP Web Application cannot be accessed.

Richard, the reason for purchasing an HP was because we wanted to continue using Windows 7.
