Jade Owls refuses to provide documentation of only receiving a fraction of Crescent Energy suspense funds; all I received was a bunch of threats for requesting. I dug into the White Star bankruptcy and discovered the royalty owners suspense account was fully funded in the transfer from the White Star bankruptcy to Contango. The purchase price agreed to and paid by Contango was reduced by $37 million dollars, the bulk of which was to cover the suspense obligation. I did recover royalty and statutory interest from Contango (later Crescent Energy) on several properties. Now Jade Owls contends it can only pay royalties from 2018 forward, because that’s all it received from Crescent although clearly the suspense account was in tact before the transfer to GHO. Everything of record is indicative of Great Horned Owls paying a reduced amount to Crescent Energy to account for the suspense monies. Of course now, they do not want to pay the royalty or interest owed. This would indicate that Crescent Energy did not “take the suspense” funds, but, gave GHO a reduced sale price. It would also explain how GHO managed to buy 800 producing wells and pay off it’s numerous mortgages in the same month without financing that did not come until 6 months later. Jade Owls will not willingly pay royalty suspense funds; file a Oil & Gas Owners’ Lien per Oklahoma statutes to insure eventual recovery of your royalties and statutory interest. Will keep you updated.
