We have a lease ending this sept with mineral rights in Reeves County initiated with Soape, Inc that I understand was taken over by Upcurve. Soape gave be a landman contact for Upcurve that has not responded to 2 email requests in the last month. I looked online for Upcurve and the website is not functioning. I did see this info though: UpCurve Energy Partners’ assets in West Texas were acquired by Sev.en Global Investments (part of the Sev.en Group owned by Czech billionaire Pavel Tykač). The transaction was finalized in May 2026, marking the buyer’s first entry into the U.S. upstream oil and gas sector.
My question: Is anyone else in this situation and have any guidance on how to proceed? ?
If you have a current lease, then you just need to wait until it expires. It will take weeks to months for the internal documents to transfer to the new company, so just sit back and let it happen. This sort of merger and acquisition happens all the time. The original lease should have been filed in the county Courthouse for Reeves, so landman can find you when it expires if there is not drilling before then. If you already have production, then the new division order or transfer order will come when the paperwork is finished.
