I’ve checked the RRC Public GIS, but was curious if anyone sees anything (I only saw permitted wells?) that might explain why we’ve received an unsolicited sale offer recently. 7 years ago companies were passing altogether on these sections.

Also, do companies who offer to buy also offer to lease ever, or would we have to reach out to different companies if we only were interested in leasing?
In my opinion (as a 49+ years of experience O&G geologist) is that this “new” interest is tied to the deeper Woodford and Barnett Shale targets that industry has been successfully exploiting over the past 12-24. Deeper than the traditional Wolfcamp target zones - and prospective under both the Central Basin Platform (where your acreage sits) as well as to the west in the Delaware Basin ara.
As to your last question, my experience says that companies buying minerals are not in the market for leasing the minerals. Two different business plans.
