Y’all are so helpful TY. It’s probably a small share. My uncle sold his half of the inheritence a couple years ago for like $2500. I’m guessing price of oil it’s gone up a bit. Or that $5k offer is a bait and switch (they were asking us to sign over deed before payment, feels like a scam attempt).
Are there folks that work for a fee to help someone sort all this out?
Never ever sign over a deed without getting payment! Never, Never, Ever! On a lease either.
There are people that can help you for a fee, but I am in the “teach a man to fish” camp and you will be empowered. Contact the operator first and you may be able to find out all you need to know.
