As to the idea that certain wells are identified with different companies. There are a couple of different reasons for that.
One is that sometimes the operator may disburse the oil revenue, but the gas purchaser disburses the gas revenue, or vice versa.
The more likely one is that company A operated the well from 2000 to 2005, then sold the well to company B, who then sold it in 2015 to company C, who sold it Company D in 2023. ( you get the idea.)
I would suggest you do as much as you can by yourself, then if you need professional help, hire a reputable land company or mineral manager to land the plane.
