Unable to Find Lease on paying minerals

I am unable to find a lease in the records for the Minerals Rights I inherited that I am currently being paid on. I have leases with releases but no new lease after that. I have searched the County Clerks office and there is nothing there. I would like to determine if what I am being paid on is off an old lease from 1956 that I have a release on or if there is in fact a new lease that I can't locate. Is there a certain way that I would request from the operator that they would have to supply a copy of the lease they are paying on? I just don't know where to go from here and want to make my contact call to the operator successful. Thanks for any help anyone can input.

Operator: Angel Exploration, LLC

State: Oklahoma

What is the legal description of the property in question? It is possible it is held from the lease you found. We have several being held by 50+ year old leases.

Rick,

I appear to have recorded "releases" on all prior leases so I think I've narrowed it down to either a missing lease or a mistake maybe in past research by landmen. That's why I would like to see if I could get a copy of the lease they are paying on so I know if I have to clear something up or have a copy of the lease for my file. I am going through index sheets for the time period of when my last lease on record was "released" (Sept 1976) to see if I can find a recording of another lease...no luck yet. I'm requesting some copies but it is all such a slow process. Just trying to figure out a way that might be easier.

The Devor 1 and 1A wells were producing 1977-2008.

The Log Cabin 1-21 has been producing since 2004. And now all are reporting as the same production unit.

All appear to be based on the Morrow formation. All are based on 640 acre spacing.

There are a couple of other Devore wells that were completed in 1969 but I don't see the production overlap.

Here is a pooling order in 1977. It is very possible that it was not leased and you are being paid subject to the pooling order without a lease.

Rick,

Thank you so much for the information. The pooling order definitely answers a lot of questions. I would love to know the process you went through to find this. I am fairly familiar with the OCC website. Is it possible to give me a few tricks on how to find this stuff. It would sure help with my 35+ other properties I need to research.

Thanks again for all your input. I am so enlightened every time I come to ask questions.
