We have received a couple of division orders recently that have two types of interests identified for each well. The codes are R1 and R27. There is no key to what these codes represent. Does anyone here know what they might mean? Thank you!
Sometimes operators divide the royalty decimal into parts, such as.. Operator’s share of lease and non-op working interest owner’s share of lease. Separate decimal for each of 2 tracts or 2 units in the well. The same mineral owner has two leases in the well because it includes two sections. Or one lease has no costs and the other lease is subject to costs. You can ask the division order analyst for the reason. I would expect that your total DOI in the well is the total of the two decimals. Most likely the check detail will pay royalties on each decimal on separate lines.
