I have been searching out several sections that me and my family have minerals on in Reeves County, one section (sec.8, blk 55,&4, T&P) shows to have 2 wells on it, acording to the GIS legend identifier. When I click on these well dots nothing to identify the wells comes up. How can I find out about these wells to inquire about them from the TXRRC? Our mineral ownership on this section is very small and is not even under lease at this time.

There are no presently producing wells in Section 8, Block 54, T4S, T&P RR Co, A-2098 & 6030.
The wells you see in the W/2 SW/4 were drilled in 1953 but have not produced since 2001.
Hope this helps -

Thank you for your information. As a landman perhaps you can tell me if there is any leasing around Sec. 34, Blk 58, PSL? We have 80 acres not leased in that section since Aug. 2010.

Hi, Thomas -
Energen Resources Corporation out of Midland has lands under lease in the Sections to the immediate north, east and southeast of you. They leased those lands between January and March of 2011, but apparently stopped leasing in the area after that. Additional leasing appears to have been done in 2010 - 2011 to the east and northeast of you. Nothing recent to the northwest, west or southwest of you.
On 12/27/2011 they spudded in their Cottonmouth 58-47 Well No 1 [Two Georges (Bone Spring)], in Section 47, Block 58, PSL / A B Burchard, A-1530, which is one section to the east and then two sections south of yours. Horizontal well along the eastern section line, running due south from inside the NE/C.
They reached Production Interval at 13,020.0' on 2/28/2012, but apparently have not submitted any additional reports since then. Not reporting the completion of a well between February and now does not strike me as being a particularly good sign.
Hope this helps -

I tried to edit the message above to include additional information, but the forum's software apparently didn't allow for that.
About 3 miles southwest of you, in Section 6, Block 70, PSL / J C Hunter / A M Grisham Survey, A-4619, Petrohawk has permitted the API # 42-389-33137 Greeman State 70-6 Well No 1H. 12,000', Two Georges (Bone Spring). Permit approved 1/26/2012. Currently listed as "Well Location".
And about 2-1/4 miles due east of you, in Section 42, Block 55, T5s, T&P RR Co / S N Gentry Survey, A-2152, Keystone Petroleum has permitted the API # 42-389-33073 Armstrong State 42 Well No 1. Permit approved 11/1/2011 to 13,250' in several possible fields, including Wildcat and the Wolfbone (
Trend Area). Also currently listed as "Well Location".
Your land does not appear to be in a particularly hot area right now, but if any of these three wells are successfully completed that may change.
Remind me in another 2-3 months and we'll take another look.
Hope this helps -

Hi Charles.
Thank you for your help, time and effort. With your knowledge, I would like to impose upon you to ask you about one more question. This concerns sec. 59, blk. 4, H&GN, about 8 miles NE of Pecos. In March 2011 we leased 80 acres for 3/2 years, for $1,600/$2,000 acre. I felt that at this price they were very interested in doing something on this lease. Last May I was in Pecos and checked on this section (many years ago it was my Dad’s farm so I knew where it was). About 50-75 yards off the NE corner of the section a “Nabors Drilling” had a rig drilling on the section just east of ours. From the ID signs I learned that it was identified as “Rig 45, Nabors Drilling, Thorton Trust #1.” I was not able to get thru the gate to talk to anyone about the well. From the RRD-GIS, it appears to be a horizontal well, heading off to the east. Am I reading this correctly? I have also seen several rigs within 1 or 2 miles off the NW and West side of the section, so there is drilling close. Now my question: can you tell me anything about the drilling reports or anything about this well? Do you know anything about any other plans, or any productive wells in this area?
I really do appreciate you help and expertise in this matter. Thank you
Thomas

Quite a bit going on around this one. I'll need your email address to send you a map and a table of the wells.
Accept me as a friend and we can exchange contact info. The Forum doesn't like people putting that sort of thing on the general board.
