TX: Is there a site that shows total acres in an abstract?

I know about Earth Point’s “Texas Land Survey - Search By Description.” But it’s not accurate. Neither is the TX RRC GIS Viewer measurement tool.

Try the “Mapping Viewer”

RRC and Texas GLO overlay gis viewers are generally accurate as to section locations, but new surveys may show lines somewhat off. Measurement tools are not designed for exact accuracy. You can go to GLO Land Grant Database and pull up the scanned records for an abstract which will show original acreage and updates from later patent survey. Be aware that many sections have multiple abstracts for different parts depending on orignal grantee. Also, GLO is still working on scanning and so records may not be available. A lot of well permits are based on ‘called’ acreage from original records, rather than newer resurvey. https://www.glo.texas.gov/archives-heritage/search-our-collections/land-grant-search
