Transfer of Operator

We have one operating well by Continental in Blaine county, Quintle in 10-16N-10W Continental got permits for 5 additional wells in this section and filed the Spud documents. Yesterday, they filed Transfer of Operator to Newfield for the 5 new wells with the status as SP - well spud. What does this transfer actually mean? Did they sell the “lease” to Newfield? Thanks

The operatorship is transferring to the other company. They may or may not have bought the leases. It means Newfield will take over operating and paying the royalties.

On the OCA website under case# 201804078 there is a motion 30128082 dated 8/30. What does all this activity mean? Thanks for insight into these activities.

16N-10W Sec 3 & 10. 201804078 Mostly, it is just procedural. Six wells were planned for the section. I am not seeing completion reports yet, but this particular case may be to reopen the Multiunit case in order to report the percentage of perforations in each well. This is for Quintle 2-10-3XHM. Then the Division Order can be calculated. When the order actually comes out, the real reason will be evident. Each one had an original split of 50/50 in each section, but that will probably change to a slightly different percentage for each well since the perforations will be unique to each well. Interesting is that Continental spud the wells, but the wells have been sold to Newfield. Newfield is actually the one opening this cause.

Thank you for the information.
