Tool to monitor OCC well activity

Hey everyone,

I help manage my family’s mineral properties in Oklahoma (300+ scattered across multiple counties) and got frustrated with manually checking the OCC website for new permits, drilling activity, and pooling orders.

I’m a video producer by trade but built a simple automated system that:

  • Monitors the OCC database daily
  • Sends email alerts when there’s activity on my properties
  • Also watches adjacent sections (for horizontals that might pool my minerals)
  • Tracks specific wells by API number

It’s been running for my family for a few weeks and catching stuff we would have missed.

My question: Would other Oklahoma mineral owners find something like this valuable? What features would you want to see? Is this solving a real problem or just me overthinking things?

Happy to share more details if there’s interest. Just trying to figure out if this is useful to anyone beyond my own family before I spend more time on it.

Thanks!

Yes, I would find this useful!

Anything that helps navigate the OCC website, would be great in my opinion

I am for Custer County activity only. But, I’m too Scottish to pay much, if anything. I don’t care about tracking the whole state.

I would be very interested in using a tracker like this. I think it is a great idea.

I have property in Roger Mills County and would find this helpful

Great feedback. Our family business is the same way. I could see doing a tiered pricing system so we could get this really affordable. I’d like this to be a no-brainer peace of mind purchase that doesn’t break the bank. Also, I’m planning on doing a free trial so people can try it first. And, I’d like to make it free for the year for the first 10 people who sign up on the waitlist. Right now, I’m adding more and more features. I think people will like it.

Thanks for the feedback Marilyn. This is encouraging! Right now I’m adding more and more features. I think this will be really helpful to people. I’m collecting an early access sign up on my website now, and then, I’m hoping to launch this quickly.

Hi Elizabeth. Thanks for the feedback. We own some in Roger Mills also. We’re doing early access sign ups on my website, but I’m hoping to launch very quickly. I’ll keep people updated!

James I’d be very interested in your program and being a retired landman may be able to offer useful feedback

Forum rules won’t let me post the page or my email. I messaged the admin asking their recommendations on how I can share the sign up page with people who are interested without violating any guidelines.
