Tips For Asking Questions in the Forum

It's two years later for us (my sister and I). As Dad's executor of his trust and will I have made headway with the big company's (e.g. Sunoco and Marathon) and we are receiving small checks every several months. Each of about 15 company's accepted Dad's trust and will after probate, and split his shares in oil, gas, and minerals primarily in the mid to East Texas areas and county's. Our checks have come sporadically in the last six years.

HOWEVER, we are still 'arguing' with a Houston Company who refuses to split money owed to us on the grounds that Dad did not specify by name the multiple leases. Rather his attorney chose to use the 'any, else,

other" property, leases, etc. in his name is to also be split between his daughters. I m deof aling long distance with a company which now appears not to be a management company holding the lease, but rather a drilling

company. This we see in issues this company has had with complaints and/or shutdowns and fines for leakages, overflows, etc in well- Texas!!!!! And, of course no royalty to us on the existing wells of which Dad had a part. If anyone has any information on TPIC - Texas Petroleum Investment Corporation I would be pleased to know and follow up. Five years ago when we started this, they seemed to be a management of leases company. Now, with fines and issues in several areas, and absolutely no help from them with regard to

royalties, we think the business may not be totally as it appeared. As I indicated we do receive small checks

from multiple other, mainly oil drilling company's, but nothing from them...which had prior to Dad's passing were arriving to him quite regularly. Can anyone shed some light on this situation? I was here several years ago with a similar complaint; TPIC was not interested in resolution of the situation at that time. They have

ALL of the paperwork from the Trust and Will. And, as I said, it was honored by all the 'big guys" like Oxy and

Sunoco, Marathon. We just don't get it and feel like we are in the middle of a murder mystery!! I'm sorry Mrs. Thomas' wife, but praying, in our case hasn't worked a twat.

Judith, We had no idea my husband even had mineral rights until he was called for leasing..We haven't heard a thing on how everything is going. We have no idea how this will turn out, but anything is better than nothing..Ours was not through a will or probate. It was surprise you have mineral rights that belonged to his dad..We have a small tract on a 98 acres. We haven't dealt with anyone other than TR Energy for the leasing part and a small bonus..I don't know how any of this will work out. I don't know if it is anything that will matter, but I will still pray just as I have before being told about the mineral rights..I'm usually the kind of person that never gets involved in anything such as this. You know if it sounds to good to be true, it probably is..I will continue to pray and believe there will be something good that comes from this..

Thanks for your reply, believe me, when dealing with these leasing issues persistence and a 'belief it will happen' are about the only two things one has going. It is difficult for me to think the Railroad Commission

has not stepped up both with clarity for lease holders with regard to the processes involved in obtaining

their monies from the drillers and distributors, and better oversight of the management firms which seem

to be the middlemen in delivering funds for many lease holders. This site is the best place to obtain information however, so you are in good hands and I wish you well in resolution.

I have received a lease offer for 8-07N-08E, Seminole $250for 3 yrs, 1/8 Roy or 200 yrs, 3/16 or …00 for1/5 Roy. I only own .8736 net acres. This is from United Land. This seems very low to me. Does any one know what the going rate is in Seminolw?

I just received a letter this week from charger resources with a lease offer in garvin county, OK. I had no idea I had mineral rights and have no clue where it come from. This is section 10-4N-4W. This is all the information I have. I called the number on the letter but they haven’t called me back. Can anyone point me in the right direction to find out how much land, whose names are on the mineral rights and who it originated from. I am new to this and completely clueless and curious.

Hi there, I'm a newbie here. I have many questions and would like to include as much relevant info with my questions as possible. How and where do find the following info underlined?

  • Well Name and/or API number ?? Well name??
  • Location - Township & Range or Survey Name ??
  • Abstract Number ??
  • Total Acres in the unit or pool Is this info on my lease papers,,Total Acres in unit or pool?? under Lease section it reads :...said land shall be deemed to contain 45.48000 gross acres....IS 45.4800 the Total Acres or unit in pool? (According to lease offer I own 0.94750 net mineral acres..offering $... per 0.94750 net mineral acre)
  • Number of acres owned in the unit or pool? is this the 0.94750 net mineral acres?

Also, I was able to pull up docs from 1907 (thank you "Nancy") and see more info, but cannot seem to get that doc up consistently on the WV doc inquiry website . Would any info contained on that original deed be helpful to me now in this research?

thank you in advanced, Julie

I'm new to this website which I found when I was looking for a way to evaluate offers to buy my mineral rights.

Family Trust accounts own some 31.25% of 2,000+ acres of surface, and oil, gas and other minerals in Block 1, 2 and G, FSIL, Pecos County, Texas. Most of the acreage was developed into 10 acre tracts, with a 30', 40', 50' or 60' Right of Way to each tract. A prospective Lessee is asking us to show them where we were deeded the ROW minerals, or to warrant title to the ROW minerals. Some four Units have been formed on some of the acreage in the past, and each attributed half of the ROW acreage to the adjacent ten acre tract.

Can you provide us with some Texas law precedent?

Thank, you,
