I have mineral rights that the landmen can’t seem to locate. What should I do next?
You need to tell us where they are located and why you think you own them.
They were purchased through a mineral rights foreclosure sale in Jefferson County, Ohio.
Could be possible that the document where you purchased them has never been filed. Thus creating a gap in the title.
Is it possible that the foreclosure was rescinded by a court order or bankruptcy that you may not be aware of?
The landman may not find your ownership if no instrument of transfer was ever filed, it is hard to locate something that does not exist. I have found here in Texas, that multiple acreages are filed under a single document but they still should be indexed properly in the courthouse.
Christy,
You need to provide more information. When you say foreclosure, do you mean county tax sale or from a creditor forced sale like sheriff, Marshal type sale? And didn’t you get a deed with the legals or what do you mean it cannot be found? The information you provided in your questions was, well, less than one sentence and nothing to go on. How did you think someone could help? With anything in life, the more you give the more you’ll probably get.
