The drop in Oil prices helping natural gas owners?

Low oil prices. Equals better deals for natural gas mineral owners ?? Prices jumping back up

It will still depend upon supply and demand and whether the gas well owner has strong financials. If the power grid needs more gas for summer AC cooling, etc., it would help.

Seems like a great opportunity to buy long.

Gamble much- yes! Otherwise stick with what you know!

My understanding is that there are a lot of oil wells that produce natural gas as a by-product. As a result, if the price of oil drops by a lot, then these oil wells get shut-in and all their associated gas also is no longer produced. This means that the natural-gas market sees a reduction in supply and the price of gas goes up.

Not today as we have way more gas than there is demand. Just look at gas price charts for the last 10 years. The old adage that hot summers bring higher prices doesn’t hold much water anymore.
