Anyone seen this status before? The well is in Block 27 Section 46. Been getting inquiries on leasing this section but some think it’s HBP and then one company told me about it showing Temp Abandoned on the RRC site.
The well in question was a 1976 gas completion that was then recompleted to a shallower zone in 1978-1979.
It has been technically uneconomic as to production since about mid 2004 with last reported production in Jan 2025.
Being that the well has not been producing in economic amounts for over 18 months, technically the lease should have “expired” and should now be open (even though the operator will contest that point).
Some of the acreage may be open due to several different leases that were signed back in the seventies. One lease had a shut-in royalty clause, and one did not.
