Recently received our first checks on the well. There is a North Dakota tax taken out. Since I am out of state, I need to know if I just file in my state or is there more I need to do in North Dakota.

I am just a mineral owner in North Dakota and we file North Dakota state taxes for our trust as a composite return. Our income has been low to this point but we file every year. We expect to use an accountant next year for North Dakota taxes.
This is new and noticed that taxes were taken out of our payment! It isn’t a substantial amount but was concerned about filing there too!
