Richard,
I would say Montague County has the cart before the horse. Or maybe EOG is cooking their books or 'fuzzy math' numbers being sent to the county tax assessor. I would be calling the tax office now.

The same thing happened to me. I have an interest in three wells near Salona. I am receiving checks.
I have over 40 cousins, some receive checks and some don't yet. Rules about DO say they may give you the same info. in another form and they have done this in the statement with my first check.
We all got appraisal notices from the Tax Appraisal District. EOG has notified them of our share interest in the wells.
This notice only gives you a chance to protest the taxes and the taxes or not due until 31 Jan 2013. You will get another notice of taxes due later.
