Suspence

If there is money in suspense, in another state, Delaware, from royalties, in TX. But has never been posted in unclaimed for over ten years and it's due to both oil companies, not filing proper paperwork, so it's never been known to unclaimed property, who it belonged too, how when I called them and told them I knew it was there, they found it. But didn't know who it was.

Is there a question in your comment? I am not following what you are asking.

If the monies are from royalties in Texas, the proceeds should have been sent to the Texas Comptroller of the Public Account. I would write to the Texas Comptroller first.

I recently found out that there is money in suspense in Delaware from my mineral holdings in North Dakota. How it got there I have no idea and no one seems to be able to tell me. It's all so strange. If there's money in Delaware, where else is there money? Why is it not in North Dakota? How do I find out?

Some companies can hold money in suspense for years before turning over to the local state. The corporation is likely incorporated in Delaware and that is why it appears to be in Delaware.

Seems like the money in suspense should have been placed in the state which the recipient's last known residence was.. If person lived in Texas before going missing, the money should be deposited with the Texas Comptroller. Not sure about the law on this, but logically speaking, why would it go to a state which no one (besides the articles of incorporation for the operator) have any connection to?

The oil company said they have a contact with Delaware. I don't understand and it all becomes so confusing everytime I attempted any progress in figuring it out. I don't get it why does this have to be complex

They lie

If the company has a contact with Delaware, tell them to give it to you.

No need to write, go to their Web site and search the link for Unclaimed Property.
