Still no contact about DO

It’s been almost 4 months since I’ve heard from Continental about our DO. Wells started pumping during July. I got a little info from the landman we leased to and he said he had found out another person who’s in on a well we are on hasn’t gotten paid or reached out to either. I know it generally takes a long time but at what point do I do something about it?

If you are in OK, the DOs usually take about five months, so give them a few more weeks. Some of the multi-unit, multi-well groupings may have over 1000 mineral owners that they have to check for title. It takes a while.

For OK, you do not have to sign a DO in order to get paid. You do need to return a W-9 and a “letter in lieu” can clarify the decimal and set the minimum payment at $25. Use the magnifyig glass to read up on them.

Wells are in Roosevelt, Montana. We sent in W9s by certified mail but still crickets.

Still may be a month or two early.

Now into May with still no contact from anyone from Continental. Sent another inquiry through my landman who made a very long email about how this should have been completed awhile ago and I still havent gotten any contact from anyone. Again at what point do i do something more than just sending inquirys and emails in hopes someone actually responds? One more month and it will be a full year of the wells producing… they should have had everything 6 months before the well was even starting producing and if they dont have everything they wont tell me what it is that i am missing. It’s getting really frustrating and kinda at my wits end here.

The operator does not run the Division Order Title report until after the wells starts producing. It usually takes about five months after first sales to run the title, more if a three section well. Did you send all of your information by certified mail return receipt? If not, then you may need to send it again by that method. You should also call their revenue department and list the certified mail receipt number in your call and ask if there is a title issue and if so, what other documents do they need. If no issue, then demand payment and interest.

Was it worth it. Looks like no.

If it was a working interest they would find u. Production can be attached in a lawsuit

Landman submitted everything when I signed with him. When i didn’t hear anything after i knew that they were producing wells I made an inquiry on their website, gave them all my info along with all the paperwork they then assigned me a DO analyst who sent me one email at the beginning of the year asking for one more piece of info and then I havent heard anything since other than to turn in Tax Paperwork that they had sent to me shortly after (like a day after) the DO analyst emailed me. I sent 8-10 emails over 4 months to the DO analyst asking for some sort of update and no reply. Last month the landman who i signed with emailed them as well and still havent heard anything other than an auto reply that basically said we will get to it when we get to it.

Welcome to mineral ownership

The more I see the more valuable surface rights appear. Got to get past the surface owner first

“In on a well”. “Still waiting”. If u owned a working interest and owed them a dollar they would be sitting in the driveway
