Anyone got any offers on Section 9-3s-4w from an outfit named Plainview? If so how much

Thanks Linda. I have not seen a spud notification yet, but expect it soon. Permitted location puts it on same pad as the Wright 1-09H, which is the first Woodford well in section 9.

Thanks John…haven’t gotten the chance to go south to the diggins lately except when my husband and I came back from our Thanksgiving trip to Broken Bow Friday. Spent Thanksgiving away from family for the first time and rented a cabin at Beaver Bend State park. The leaves were beautiful and we had a wonderful trip! When we came through after dark the lights from the Mark well rig were still shining. There was a lot of pipe in the derrick on Wed. so figuring they are pretty deep. Didn’t go west enough to see if they had started on the Virginia well yet. After I had said we would run down there a couple of weeks ago we found that the drilling permit had not been posted yet. So now we might go down in the next few days. Thanks Barbara for the sweet words and Thanksgiving wish…might have been our best Thanksgiving days ever!

Who is leasing sec 9-3s-4w and what is the going rate?

Yes John…the pad for the Virginia being on section 16 puts it on the north edge of the section where we have royalty (16 2n4w) so I know where to go to look for it when I go down. Is it only suppose to go across section 9 for perforations or are they also going into section 4?

Apparently, Mark 1H-27X is around 3,900 feet into section 27 so far. They have hit several small faults. They are hopeful they will be able to get all the way across section 34 but are aware of the “big” fault that runs through that section. They hope to have drilling finished within the next week to 10 days.

Linda, the permit is just for section 9. The first Virginia well went into section 4. Don’t know why NFX is limiting this one to one section.

Karen, you could hire someone to do a title search in Lincoln County. An accurate description of the acreage would help narrow search.

If they are sending you a letter there is a pretty good chance that your family is the owner, but some title issues need to be tidied up. Go to the trust documents and see if they have an end deadline to them. If your mom is still alive, then you are probably in good shape.

Personally, I would not answer the letter, but would keep a very sharp eye on the pooling for that section and choose the best bonus/royalty pair. Usually the higher royalty and lower bonus works out in the long run, but not always. Don’t go for 1/8th. Pick at least 3/16 if not 1/5th.

You can call Blue Dolphin and ask for a copy of the drilling title opinion that pertains to your acreage and tell them that you need it for your files. Also tell them that the name is incorrect and it should be the trust name and what do you need to do to fix it.

Friend me and I can give your a few more tips. Your time frame is a wee bit short but there might be other companies leasing in the area. Pooling is not bad either. Pros and cons to each. Both livable.

I recently received a letter from Blue Dolphin Production advising me to choose an option prior to impending force pooling in the NW/4 of 5-15N-06E in Lincoln County. According to my records, we don’t have any holdings there. The thing is: the letter came addressed to my GRANDFATHER (who has been dead for 50 years) but at MY address . It says according to Lincoln County records we “may own a leasehold or unleased interests in the drilling and spacing unit”. Since my grandfather died, my grandmother managed the assets, and then my mom, and now me. I don’t have much from old records. There was a search and verification of our assets by a legal firm in 1991, when they were placed in a trust under the joint trusteeship of my grandmother and my mom. I’ve also been through the “unclaimed property” process. How do I find out whether this is ours, or (more probably) if it WAS ours at some point and has long since been sold off?

This morning on the TV news they had the president of the oil and gas industry for Oklahoma. They gave him several questions the audience had sent in and the one that interested me most was when he said they don’t have the problem with the salt water disposals causing earthquakes in the SCOOP and STACK areas like they have been having further north of there. He said they were "reviving up operations and hiring more people to deal with all the issues the increased drilling (traffic, etc.) is causing. It was a pretty encouraging talk from him. We need some more excitement of the good kind here in oil field country for sure!

The SCOOP and STACK have very little formation water for the horizons being drilled currently (Springer/Woodford in the SCOOP and Meramac/Woodford in the STACK), so there’s very little dispose of. Huge benefit not only because of the earthquakes, but it drives the cost of operations down meaning it’s still profitable to drill.

Thanks Huey…yes, I believe that is what the guy said this morning. It was something about not having as much water in SCOOP and STACK but I couldn’t remember exactly what he said until I turned around so appreciate you reminding me.

Ryan…thanks for the information on the Mark well. How did you find all these things out? Was wondering if you mean they are now planning to go all the way across 34 if possible because at first they were just talking about 1/2 and perforation only including about 1/3 of that section. Hope you are now considering going all the way through 34 also. Again thanks for any information I can get.

Ryan…still interested in what you know about how far they plan to go into 34 2n4w on the Mark well. Can you tell me some good news? I hope!

WAHOOO…Oil up nicely with WTI up to about $51.59, Brent up a little over $50.00 and Natural gas up to $3.41 at this time. That’s the highest the gas have been for a long time. I believe they said it had something to do with a decision that OPEC made…whatever caused it I’m fur it!!!

Went down by the diggins this morning and saw they have the well drilled and the rig removed from the new “Mark” well and they were setting the tanks. Didn’t talk to anyone…it was so cold I didn’t think anyone would want to stand out and talk and everyone there was there it looked like to set those tanks. Had a crane there and a welding truck came in as we were leaving. Wish I knew how far into 34 they ended up going. Anyone know?

Also went over to section 16 to see if I could see whether there was a rig up and drilling on the new Virginia well…found nothing going on…no rig, no location builders…nothing. Don’t know what that means. If they were doing something we just couldn’t see it from the road just west of 16 and we went the length of it all the way to section 9. Sorry I couldn’t help there.

There was a rig up on the side of Rush Creek on the east side of highway 76 and there is still a rig up still on the south side of the Washita on the east side of highway 76 but further east (not close to the highway).

Yesterday when we started to cross the Washita River bridge there in Erin Springs we were stopped to let some big trailer houses and other trucks go through. Hubby said they are taking that stuff to a location (it was headed south).

Hope they have too John. Sorry, I couldn’t have brought you news about a rig but it will probably be coming soon. Our weather is nasty so I probably won’t go back down for a while but when we do I’ll check again.
