Assuming you mean Stephens County, Oklahoma, yes there is. Two major operators are taking a hard look at horizontal wells in the area. If you have leased and have a lease with more than 12 months to go, there isn’t much you can do. If you haven’t leased, you may have a very good opportunity to do so. If you have lots of acreage you can make a good deal for both parties. If your acreage is small, don’t jump too soon.

Only a short time ago I was made aware of heirship on several properties in Stephens County and have not yet leased anything/anywhere although have been contacted by Bear Cat on a 4 and 5 West property. The property I refer to here reads as follows: S/2 SE/4 AND N/2 SE/4 AND N/2 SW/4 of S 30 T2N R5W Stephens County OK. I don’t even know how much acreage this is, only that it came to me after Mom passed. So confusing!
