What does "squeeze" a well mean and what does it entail?
ardis:
When you hear the term "squeeze" a well, this refers to a technique used to seal off with cement a section of the well bore where a leakage of water or gas occurs; forcing the cement to the bottom of the casing and up the annular space between the casing and the wall of the borehole to seal off a formation or plug a leak in the casing. This is ofter referred to as a "squeeze job". This is common on older wells which over time develope leaks downhole.
The cement job or whatever fluid they are pumping doesn't mean it's necessarily because of a hole in the casing but that it is just to a targeted zone or area. They are going to "squeeze" a fluid or slurry by means of high pressure pumping into a specific place .
Thanks for your reply, I hope to hear next week if they were successful in the squeeze. Hope so as this well has not produced yet. They have been waiting on the cement truck, it appears there is a shortage of them(the cement trucks). I hope to go to North Dakota in 2 weeks and may try to find this well.
