Spouses Name Required on Brine Lease?

I have received and oil and gas lease to lease brine rights in Arkansas. The deed to the land is in my name alone, but the landman is telling me that my spouse’s name MUST be on the lease according to “Arkansas law”. I don’t understand this because Arkansas is not a community property state.

Can anyone give more insight on if the landman is correct? I don’t understand how this would work with the deeds either. Thank you.

The AAPL guide on Arkansas law recites that both spouses must sign a lease.

If the brine lease that you are offered looks anything like the draft lease I just saw, it would be very wise to get a good oil and gas/surface owner attorney to look it over for edits. I saw some big red flags on the one I have.
