Spacing Unit size question

Hi,

I have a question on Spacing units and their size. We just received our Division order and it has us down for a 1912 spacing unit. I’ve never seen that size of unit and wondered why such an odd number? The wells are with Silver Hill, LFM2, 161N, Range 93, Section 19.
I’ve tried looking online with even the Premium account in the ND oil and gas site. I can’t seem to find a spacing unit.

Does this size seem odd? Not the usual 1280?

Thanks in advance for any thoughts or answers.

Beth

The well is a three section well so would normally be 1920 acres. However, the west and north sides of a township are not always pure 640 sections due to the curvature of the earth. So just a hair short in this case. You can search on the BLM website and get the acreage. The irregular lots on the west side probably add up to the 1912.

M Barnes;

Thank you soooo much for all that information! Yes, of course this makes sense. It’s such a hilly odd area that the well pad is on.

You gave valuable information and I greatly appreciate all the screenshots and websites to confirm it all.

I love this forum and the knowledge that is available. Thank you again soo much! Beth and the whole famdamily!
