Have a lease in Karnes County, have all my papers in order with the oil company, but when I went to look online to see if anything has changed in the pooling orders—BOOM—I FOUND that somebody made a big mistake in the County Clerk’s office in misspelling my name. So I called the County Clerk’s office, talked to a person and I explained to her that my name was misspelled and they said, “Well, can’t do anything about it, that’s how it is.” I said, “WHAT! Can I take you proof that my name isn’t like you spell it?” All of my papers that I have there are spelled right, so why did you misspell my name? She said, “Sorry, can’t do anything.”
So I called the oil company and they said, “We sent the papers with your name spelled right. We will send a copy to you so you can see that it wasn’t our mistake,” but for some reason they are trying to blame us for the mistake.
Oil company told me that it was a good thing I saw all that online; otherwise, I would have had problems getting paid.
So for all of you out there, keep checking to see if everything is okay with your name spelled right! TY for your time, Texas Lady.
