Shut-In Well

Is there a limit on how many times an Oil Company can do a shut-in in Oklahoma on a well interest I have in McIntosh County, OK

Not unless you prohibited it in your lease. Most old leases had open ended time frames on the shut in clauses. I have been burned by that, so all my new leases have a much shorter time frame on them to prevent that very action.

Martha: What time frame do you usually get?

I prefer one year but will go with two years depending upon the area and pipeline building. Always “cumulative”, never “consecutive” which has a huge loophole in that wording.
