Has anyone sold mineral rights and received payments with interest over time, say 5 years as an example, which could significantly reduce the capital gains tax?

Yes, sold and I receive payout over a 4 year period. If a payment is missed, I get all of the minerals assigned back into my name and keep all prior payments.

How did you guarantee the payment? Did you retain a lien on the property you sold?
