Seismographic Survey

I received a request to conduct a seismographic survey, including the right to ingress and egress for such purposes across my land in Reagan County, TX . It requests permission to allow a geophysical contractor, agents, and/or subcontractors to gain entry to my land for the purpose of obtaining seismic data on or under the acreage that I own the mineral rights to.

Is this something that I should sign and allow to happen?

Anne,

If you own the minerals (I will assume they are unleased) granting a seismic survey is a good thing for you to do.

But be very careful that you are not committing your minerals by your allowance. In fact you may add that as a condition to your granting permission.
