Seismic Survey rates

Hi all,

Just got a request for a seismic survey on land I own in Block 33, Section 84. Rate offered is $20/acre. Is this a reasonable rate per acre? Are there any red flags I should be on the lookout for in the agreement? The land is currently under lease and producing with Matador, FWIW.

Going rate is typically $20-$30 per acre. Depending on your acreage, you may be able to bump it up to $40. I’ve seen $50 as well, granted that was back in 2006 in the Barnett Shale (Wise County).
