Why do 3 D Seismic rates vary so much across the country? I have read about rates from 7.50 to 30.00 dollars per acre. Thats a big difference. Does anyone have insight?
I see that this is an older post. I believe the difference in the seismic rates is the location, how many mineral acres you own, and the seismic company wanting to procure the permits as cheaply as possible. The price is negotiable. The mineral owners who don't have representation to negotiate the permit and the fee get paid less.
