I recently received a seismic permit for mineral rights in Oklahoma.
They say they just need to have at least one executed mineral permit for each mineral tract to have permission to view the data. This is simply for exploratory purposes which is good for the mineral owner. They claim to have the whole section permitted less my 40 acre tract.
I am the only one they have contact information and asking my permission. I find that odd since I have several relatives who also have the same ownership. DO they not have to get the surface owners permission also?
I feel a bit uncomfortable being the only one allowing this though they do have the rest of section permitted supposedly.
