We just discovered that our dad had mineral interest in several counties in Texas. He mainly worked in Oklahoma. I discovered interest in Midland, Gains, Tom Green, and Ector. I have things cleared up in every county but Ector. Just getting everything thing moved over to our family LLC. Now starting to work in Ector. This is what I know. Dad, along with his good friends have interest in Ector County:

  • Township: 2S
  • Block: 43
  • Section: N/2 SE/4 24 Wondering what is happening in that area, anyone know anything or could point me in the right direction?

Hi John. I don’t see any new activity in Section 25 or the surrounding area. I see where there were some wells drilled in 2016-17. Occidental Petroleum Ltd. seems to be the major operator in this area. Some of these older vertical wells have been producing for 35-40 years and still going.
